Many mother-daughter duos and famous siblings in Hollywood are often confused with one another.
But what’s more surprising is there are an equal number of celebrities who look eerily similar but do not share the same genes, such as Natalie Portman and Keira Knightley and Amy Adams and Isla Fisher.
Another famous lookalike duo is Zoe Saldana and Thandie Newton.
Zoe Saldana and Thandie Newton Are Sisters Now
Saldana is most known for her roles in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, while Newton famously starred as Nyah Nordoff-Hall alongside Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible 2.
These actresses have such a strong resemblance that some fans are convinced they must have been separated at birth.
In 2019, Saldana sat down with host James Corden on The Late Late Show with James Corden and revealed her interaction with her “twin.”
She revealed she had once met Newton at a Golden Globes ceremony, but the interaction did not go the way she planned.
“I met Thandie at the Golden Globes a couple of years ago and I hugged her. I kind of scared her because I didn’t tell her why I was invading her space. I was just like, ‘Oh my god, please tell me that people confuse you with me.'” said Saldana
Funnily enough, Newton did not recognize her and went, “Who are you?” Since that day, they started talking, and Saldana jokingly said they have become sisters now.
Zoe Saldana’s Mom Confused as Well
The two actresses look so much alike that even their family members cannot tell them apart.
During her appearance on Corden’s talk show mentioned above, she shared that her mother, Asalia Nazario, thought she was in Westworld, Newton’s HBO show.
“My mom still thinks that I’m in Westworld. I’m like, ‘Years ago, you thought that I was in Traffic. Mom, you did not give birth to Thandie Newton,'” said the Crossroad actress.
That was not the only time Saldana’s mom made the silly mistake.
In 2014, she told The Hollywood Reporter that her mom had once seen a poster for Newton’s 2004 movie Crash and thought it was her.
Her mother called Saldana and asked her why she had not told her she was in a movie with Matt Dillon.
Victoria Beckham Also Confused by the Lookalikes
And Saldana is not the only one with silly stories like this.

In 2018, Newton told Graham Norton on The Graham Norton Show that Victoria Beckham mistook her for Saldana at a SoulCycle class in Los Angeles.
The duo chatted about pregnancy and babies, but at some point in the conversation, Newton realized she had been mistaken for her lookalike.
So she asked the former Spice Girl, “do you think I am Zoe Saldana?” Beckham was mortified when she realized it was not Saldana she was talking to.
Newton added she did not mind being mistaken for the Guardians of the Galaxy Star because of her “rare beauty,” but she found it hilarious that Beckham did not pick up her accent.
For the unversed, Saldana is a Latina while Newton is British.
It looks like this will not be the last time the actresses are confused with one another.
