The Porsche Taycan is getting a facelift, and our spy photographers have caught the Sport Turismo variant taking it out for a test. As Porsche enthusiasts, we all know the German automaker typically doesn’t do any significant changes to their vehicles during a mid-cycle refresh, and it won’t be any different for its EV. The Taycan sedan initially hit the market in 2020, and Porsche followed it up with the Cross Turismo version a year later. The Sport Turismo didn’t arrive until 2022, but we expect the entire range to be updated at the same time. Look for the updated Porsche Taycan to arrive as a 2024 model year.
As for the spy photos, the Taycan is clearly getting an updated front end with changes to the headlights and bumper. There doesn’t seem to be anything noticeable for the rear just yet, but this is an early prototype. Our spy photographers did mention there wasn’t any camouflage inside the cabin, which suggests the interior might remain unchanged, but it’s still too early to tell. It’s more likely Porsche hasn’t incorporated those updated features in the prototype.
Overall, we believe the mid-cycle refresh on the Taycan will be mild. It will be more interesting to see if Porsche continues to push the Taycan’s current tech to increase range and performance. For the 2023 model year, the Taycan did see improvements in its range for almost all of its models, with some getting over a 10% increase in usable range.
Porsche is clearly hard at work on refining its Taycan lineup. Recently, our spy photographers also caught what we believe to be the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT out testing.
