Kayce Smith never thought she would be announcing a pregnancy, but now, she already has!
The Barstool Sports reporter/sportscaster, who is usually very mum about her personal life, announced she is pregnant with her first baby with her boyfriend. She took to Barstool Sports’ website to pen a lengthy blog about what she was going through.
She said the pregnancy had not been easy, but she was glad to be pregnant. And she showered heaps of praise onto her boyfriend, who she said had been nothing but supportive.

“I’m going to be a mom. Of a real life human,” Smith began her blog on Barstool Sports‘ website on August 20, 2022. “And I’m really excited about it.”
In the subsequent paragraphs, she explained how she had been hiding the development from pretty much everyone she knew, except her boyfriend, of course. She avoided the subject entirely, but the issue was, as she put it, “they don’t just pause growing until you’re ready to stop avoiding.”
She utilized oversized clothing and acted like she was still drinking on night-outs for a while but could only fight biology for so long.

Then, she explained she was due in February 2023 and joked how “an unplanned pregnancy planned itself around football season.” Smith was also making the announcement about her mental health and her dedication to the network, where she has been for the past five years.
She did not want the pregnancy to affect anything she was doing at Barstool Sports. Smith said she was still committed to delivering the best she could in all the shows she was involved in for the network — College Football Show, NFL Show, and Unnecessary Roughness.
Smith then praised her co-hosts — Dave (Portnoy), Dan, Brandon, and Deion — for being supportive in her new chapter.

Further into her writing, Smith admitted she had been “pretty vocal” about thinking she would never have kids or want them for that matter. She even chose relationships that “fit that narrative” when she moved to New York.
However, when she found out she was pregnant, all that went out the window, both for her and her current boyfriend.
Smith was half-expecting a long conversation about their lives and choices with her partner, but he just said, “you’re going to be an amazing mom.”
“Instead we both immediately knew this baby was changing our lives in the best way possible,” she wrote. Then, she bragged about him.
“I never thought I deserved (let alone would find) somebody so unbelievable,” added Smith. “As cheesy as it sounds, he fully loved me while I learned to love myself again and I know he’s going to be an amazing dad.”
She even called him a keeper, saying he kept heavy stocks of all the food she loved.
However, in no way was Smith going to let this announcement or the attention it would bring to her new family affect the way she dealt with things.
“There’s no right or wrong way to handle this stuff – especially when our entire lives are picked apart on the internet by faceless, nameless strangers,” she asserted, “but this way feels right for me and for us.”
She declared she planned on keeping her family life out of the public eye as much as she could and hoped everyone respected that decision.
Fair enough to her because, as she mentioned, her personal life has been speculated on many times in the past. The best example of that would be her dating rumors with Carl Lentz, which she vehemently denied.
